It seems hardly anytime ago that I was encouraging you to get out into the great beyond and capture some spring colours, and now it is well and truly autumn in the UK ...in fact not only is it autumn but it you don't hurry up you will miss most of the autumn colours altogether !
Although in the UK we are fortunate enough to have four very different seasons, unlike some other part of the world Fall/Autumn isn't too great here. As when our diciduous trees start changing colour they don't necessarily do it in unison and so we get a bit of mismatch of trees that are loosing their leaves and ones still quite green. It is only really the first frost that start to alighn the colour change of the leaves, and although we have now had some frost we have also had so very wet and windy weather, which hasn't done much to create a good autumn landscape for photographers. Nevertheless get out there and find what opportunities are left ..... the image here from last Sunday where overnight rain caused some very damp conditions leading to mist which the early morning sun rays played through with spectacular effect.
I used a lensbaby for the the shot which allows for very selective focusing and also a slight shift and tilt which allowed me to change the plane of focus so it passes through from the top of the bracken through to the furthest central tree which I think adds to make the image more dramatic.
