Well a Lensbaby "Composer"

I have to say I had put off getting a Lensbaby specialist lenses for years now. Why ...? well basically as although I liked the idea of the potentially creativity this lens offers, I hadn't seen any examples of images that actually sold the concept to me. I had thought the same after visiting the Lensbaby stand at Focus on Imaging this year in February ... but I had this nagging thought that with the continued commercial success of this lens, I had to be missing a trick somewhere. So I went on a massive Internet search to find images using a Lensbaby that I could see the point to ....and soon found plenty !!!Especially macro images, an application I hadn't really considered ..so the idea was born .... and Speedgraphic delivered my bungle of joy the very next day ...and have to say the product is very well presented. What I would say to the Lensbaby folk though is .... "the images you have on your stand suck ...... !!! get some images that actually promote the true potential of this lens."
I only got delivery of this lens yesterday and really took to it straight away, very easy to use, and within a couple of minutes it was out of the box and I had produced some half decent images. I found adding my existing Canon extension tube was all that was needed to get excellent macro results. Here are some I did earlier ... although I would love to claim hours of conceptualization for these images they where actually captured as I said in a couple of minutes. The exception being the self portrait which came together once I had the Lensbaby images to add to existing image of myself, but even this is only a fairly quick mock up of where I could take this in the future and took no more than 20 mins to get to that stage.

Macro of paper weight ...

If you like to do creative photography and don't know what a Lensbaby is ...I suggest you investigate ...and please don't just get a plugin for PhotoShop to fake it ...... do it properly with a camera, you are only fooling one person .... yourself ..!
