Spring is in the air ...

With a significant change in the weather the UK has suddenly been plunged into spring and the many daffodils planted around the countryside and in peoples gardens are now really starting to bloom. The very cold winter has put such floral shows that we would have expect to see at Easter a few weeks back, so the best of these wonderful landscapes of yellow are still to come.

There are obviously many photographic approached to capturing this magnificent site, but here I have chosen to go for a minimalist approach with this macro shot. It is actually shot at F18 with an 80 mm lens and a tube extender as close as I could get to the flower without putting a shadow on it with the lens hood, where there was focus this was just at the base of the stamens with some late afternoon lighting and no breeze at all allowing for a 0.2 sec exposure I think this produces a very pleasing abstract image. With a wonderful weekend forecast weather wise, I hope this encourages you to get out there and capture some yellow of your own !
