It's Instant ....

I cannot believe it was last year that I first got my hands on to some of the the first batch of Impossible Project PX 70 Color Shade Push instant film, and after giving a quick test shared the results on this Blog back in November.

Although I have continued to shoot with my beloved Polaroid Cameras I have been using up my remaining irreplaceable Polaroid film stock now sadly down to the last  few packs, so I thought it was time to re-look at what is now available to me by way of new film from the Impossible Project …. and fortunately there is a considerable amount.

Here are a couple of scans of some tests shots from today: Firstly, PX 70 Color Shade Push film which as name suggested is possibly best suited ta reasonable amount of light and some over exposure. According to the Impossible Project this film gives the best results if it is immediately protected from the light when first ejected from the camera. Whereas the the two shots here show the difference in doing this, with the image on the left not being protected, and the one on the right being protected by covering it with a dark slide straight out of the camera. It must be noted that test was not in strong light and results of exposure of the this fim once ejected from the camera in strong light may be detrimental to the image.

What I  have not shown here is that the film comes out of the camera a wonderful shade of blue, and the image "emerges" through this which is really fantastic to just watch even though you are meant to have it covered up !!

The second test shot (below) is with PX600 Silver Shade film with a black frame, the same applies in respect to the protection of the ejected film from direct light for several minutes for best results.  I have to say this is very lovely film to use it has a softness about the image it creates and that black frame really leads the eye into it.

I have to say top marks for both of these films ....  Impossible Project ... I am really looking forward to using them with a great model I have in mind in the very near future.
