Here is an interesting capture, I was asked to photograph a paper banner so that it could be reproduced on PVC to be displayed outside. Doesn’t sound too hard you may think, until you find out the banner is 1.5 M x 9 M and is rolled ready for collection. So back at the studio with the banner I decided the only way to photograph it is in 4 sections which can then be digitally stitched together for printing. To do this I had to create a giant copy table using the floor and my camera 10 feet above on a boom. Below you can see the set up of my first attempt, I say first because the camera had to be raised from the 8 to 10 foot to ensure none of the banner was cropped off the image. There where two large soft boxes places to either side of the copy area to get an even light and obviously having a spacious studio allowed for enough space to be able to do this reasonably easily once set up.
I wonder how big your bitmap was!!!!?
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me that I have to do a similar task for my paintings. Have recently scanned 70x120cm canvas at 300dpi in 21 A4 segments! It took hours but the quality is superb.
